Staying informed

Most of us would confess to a limited capacity to absorb bad news, and we have had plenty of bad news to absorb in the past few years.

And the immediate outlook, according to the pundits, looks anything but rosy.

We are advised that inflation will take some time to bring under control and that we are likely entering into a recession. For many of us this will result in declining purchasing power as frozen tax allowances drive future pay increases into higher tax bills.

Based on past experience, those business owners and taxpayers who stay informed are more likely to survive these downturns; perhaps with reduced savings and capital but surviving none the less.
