In a recent post on our blog we outlined an announcement by HMRC that they are scaling back their attempt to roll-out the Making Tax Digital process to individuals.
Apparently, HMRC were expecting that the personal, online tax accounts being deployed would drastically reduce the number of calls that they receive from taxpayers. Surprise, surprise, this has not happened. No doubt due to calls from taxpayers who are mystified by the online processes?
Added to this, HMRC are being obliged to redeploy staff to handle the changes required by Brexit.
The Making Tax Digital process is fast becoming a mirror image of the uncertainty and challenges presented by Brexit. “Oh yes you will, oh no you won’t” is not a recipe for strong and stable government.
Like many businesses engaged in the provision of information to the accountancy sector, Informanagement is keeping pace with the ups and downs as government struggles to maintain past agenda’s and promises on many fronts.
Ironically, there has never been a better time to step up your news-feeds and keep abreast of changes as they occur and pass on this information to your clients and referral sources.
We can help, give us a call if you would like to see what Informanagement can offer or visit us in a couple of weeks at Accountex on Stand 846.
