There seems to be a pattern emerging this year that will no doubt add to the compliance and planning activity of accountants. For example:
- Planning for the start of MTD April 2019 and the need to digitise affected clients’ record keeping.
- The obligations to comply with the GDPR from 25 May 2018.
- Supporting overseas trading clients as they struggle to comprehend and cope with the UK’s exit from the EU.
As if this was not enough, the Department for Business issued an announcement last week that they will make it possible for company directors to remove their home addresses from the Companies House register to counter identity theft. See the blog we posted on this issue already. This will no doubt require advisors to contact director clients to see if they want this sensitive data removing.
And with no let up in the other obligations advisors are contracted to provide, the remainder of 2018 looks a busy time.
Keeping up-to-date in the face of these other pressures is no mean feat. At Informanagement, we provide concise updates on these and other changes, delivered to your mailbox on a weekly basis. If you would like to see how your practice could benefit, please get in touch.
