Is it possible to amplify an action such that the initial message is automatically sent out through multiple platforms? If there is one unique selling point of social media, this is it: that you can create one message and link the distribution to a variety of users – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and so on.
The key is to write copy once and link the distribution.
Leverage is classically defined as the use of force by means of a lever. In financial terms, it is generally used to describe the use of borrowed money to fund investment, such that the return on the investment is greater than the cost of borrowing the capital required; in a broader sense it refers to the use of some action to create a greater advantage.
Time is our most precious resource and it’s interesting to consider how best to leverage time: how can you complete four hours work in less than four hours?
One way is to harness the power of leverage. If you want to communicate ideas this is particularly useful as it’s the way in which we grow our businesses. At one extreme you could visit 100 contacts and explain a particular strategy that you think they should adopt, and this would take you some time, at best a number of weeks. At the other extreme, you could create one message and send it to all your contacts on a number of linked media platforms: email, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn… In which case the job would be completed in a matter of minutes, and at low cost.
What is clear is that we need to use leverage to keep clients and customers informed.
Give me a shout if you would like to find out how we could do this for you.
