No doubt you have been eulogised by media companies who believe you are underachieving in your use of social media?
Recent presidential appointments seem to have been won and lost on social media, and less worthy organisations are winning wars by skilful use of Twitter.
Many firms have a Facebook page, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts, and are required to constantly feed these hungry mouths with “topical” information that promotes their brand to the social media population. There are hash tags to consider, shrinking hyperlinks, following and being followed. For the unwary it can be a minefield. For the half-hearted, a waste of time, but for those firms who do embrace the opportunities, there is new business to be won.
If you do not have the internal resources to make best use of this marketing platform, my company can help. Our services allow us to push articles to the social media profiles of your firm automatically, and keep them up to date. Additionally, you can use our systems to post your own updates – all your social media profiles in one place.
We have also integrated a ‘ShareThis’ process to our system, meaning recipients of your newsletters can ‘share’ articles with other people in their network. These articles when shared are viewed on the practice website, driving traffic to the site and raising awareness.
The key to getting results from social media seems to be utilisation. To be effective you must feed Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other platforms with information, or links to information, that makes a difference to followers. Simply having a Twitter account, or similar, with a basic profile is not enough.
